Dermal Fillers
Restylane
Restylane is a safe, FDA approved natural cosmetic dermal filler that restores volume and fullness to the skin improving severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the fold between the lip and cheek.
As you get older, your face loses its shape. Restylane simply restores that fullness and provides a smoother contour to the face.
Restylane is the first and only cosmetic dermal filler made of non-animal based hyaluronic acid. The quality vitually eliminates any risk of animal-based disease transmission or allergic reaction.
Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that already exists in the human body and is used to provide volume and fullness to the skin. Restylane maintains it’s shape using the body’s own moisture. The material is biodegradable and completely biocompatible with human hyaluronic acid.
Restylane requires no pretesting, but you should take a few precautions before being treated. Avoid using aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, St. John’s Wort, or high dose Vitamin E supplements prior to treatment, because these may increase bleeding or bruising at the injection site. Also, if you have previously suffered from facial cold sores, there is a risk that the needle punctures could contribute to another recurrence.
Restylane is injected directly into the skin in tiny amounts by an ultrafine needle, resulting in minimal discomfort. The procedure is simple and convenient, and the results are practically instantaneous. To optimize your comfort during the procedure, your physician may anesthetize the treatment area.
The most commonly reported side effects were temporary redness and swelling at the injection site. These effects typically resolve within two to three days.
Restylane has been used in more then on million treatments in over 60 countries to correct a variety of wrinkles and to enhance the appearance and fullness of lips. However, it is currently indicated in the U.S. only for the treatment of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds. Many patients have been very pleased combining their Restylane treatment with Botox, which relaxes the underlying muscles that wrinkle the skin.
Studies have shown that the average treatment results lasts six months or longer. Restylane lasts twice as long as collagen, so treatments are typically scheduled twice a year. Evidence shows that having a touch-up treatment before the product has fully dissipated will enhance the lasting effect.
Juvederm
As we age, our skin changes. Over time, the natural volume of youthful skin begins to diminish as wrinkles and folds form. But, with Juvedermtm injectable gel, you don't have to just sit back and let it happen! Recently approved by the FDA, Juvederm injectable gel is a "next-generation" dermal filler. The smooth consistency gel helps to instantly restore your skin's volume and smooth away facial wrinkles and folds, like your "smile lines" or "parentheses" (nasolabial folds - the creases that run from the bottom of your nose to the corners of your mouth).
Juvederm is a smooth consistency gel made of hyaluronic acid - a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps to add volume and hydration. Your healthcare professional eases Juvederm injectable gel under the skin to provide a smooth, natural look and feel - so everyone will notice (but no one will know)! In fact, studies show superior results of Juvederm compared to a collagen-based dermal filler.* And, almost 90% of all study volunteers who were treated with both Juvederm injectable gel and another dermal filler* preferred Juvederm! In addition, Juvederm injectable gel is the first FDA-approved hyaluronic acid dermal filler that is proven to be safe and effective for persons of color.

Sculptra
Scluptra Aesthetic is a facial injectable treatment that corrects shallow to deep nasolabial fold contour, deficiencies and other facial wrinkles. It is a one-time treatment regimen of up to 4 injection sessions that are scheduled about 3-6 weeks apart.
The collagen beneath the skin is a key element that provides volume and gives shape to your face. At about age 30, collagen begins to break down, resulting in the gradual appearance of wrinkles, lines, and folds.
Most injectables can fill these wrinkles, lines, and folds. Sculptra Aesthetic works differently. It gradually replaces lost collagen and provides structure that lets your new look emerge more discreetly. Sculptra Aesthetic is a subtle, gradual treatment that doesn’t make you immediately look like you’ve had work done.
Sculptra Aesthetic, targets the underlying causes of the signs of aging. It can give you noticeable results that emerge subtly and can last for up to 25 Months.
Replace: Injectable poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) – the main component of Sculptra Aesthetic works within the deep dermis to replace lost collagen.
Restore: As collagen is replaced, it provides a foundation that gradually restores the look of fullness by correcting your shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds.
Refine: This results in correction of these facial wrinkles and folds that can help provide a more refined appearance that can last up to 25 months.
An average number of treatment sessions of Sculptra Aesthetic are 4 injections sessions about 3-6 weeks apart. The sessions are spread out this way because Sculptra Aesthetic gradually replaces lost collagen to restore a natural-looking appearance that can last up to 25 months. The time between injection sessions gives Sculptra Aesthetic enough time to work so that your doctor can fine-tune your follow-up treatments.
In a major clinical study of people treated with Sculptra Aesthetic, participants rated their results as good, very good, or excellent. 84.9% were satisfied at 13 months and 80% were satisfied at 25 months.
AsSculptra Aesthetic contains poly-L-lactic acid, or PLLA. It is biocompatible which means it will not harm your body. PLLA has been used for many years in dissolvable stitches and medical implants, and has been used cosmetically in Europe since 1999.
You should not use Scultpra Aesthetic if you are allergic to any ingredient of the product or have a history of keloid formation or hypertrophic scarring. It should not be injected while you have an active skin infection or inflammation in the treatment area and should not be injected into the red area of the lip.
Side effects may include injection site discomfort, redness, bruising, bleeding itching, and swelling. Other side effects may include small lumps under the skin that are sometimes noticeable when pressing on the treated area. Larger lumps, some with delayed onset with or without inflammation or skin discoloration, have also been reported. In the clinical studies the numbers of small and larger lumps were low and most resolved without treatment.
